Services provided by the Ellington Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Inc.
EVAC provides the town of Ellington and the surrounding communities with Emergency Medical Services and responds to 9-1-1 calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. During inclement weather or states of emergency, EVAC will plan for additional staffing and ambulances.
Stand-by / Events
Several times throughout the year EVAC is called upon to stage our ambulances and service vehicle at events in Ellington and around the community. EVAC's ambulances are always fully stocked and is dispatched with a full crew to oversee the medical safety of events including annual events, fire rehab and mutual aid requests from the surrounding communities.
Training / Education
Regular, monthly and quarterly trainings are held at EVAC. These include specialized trainings for our members as well as our newer members. As part of our continuing education and commitment to the continuation of volunteer EMS, EVAC holds Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and CPR classes at station 543.
